New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady responded well to the trash talking and claims made by the Miami Dolphins and Joey Porter in the week leading up to today's game by pulling out not only a 27-17 win, but a record-breaking performance in the process.

Despite throwing a pick on the Patriots' first drive to set the Dolphins up for a field goal, Brady bounced right back to throw a long, deep pass 36 yards, which was beautifully caught by Randy Moss at the one-yard-line. Laurence Malroney ran the ball in on the next play to put the Pats up 7-3.

Brady pulled off another thriller nearing the end of the first half, as he led the team down the field 69 yards to set up for Stephen Gostkowski's third successful field goal of the game. Rather than spiking the ball with just a few seconds left in the half, Brady threw a quick pass to Randy Moss, who was able to get out of bounds with one second remaining. The teams went to the locker room after 30 minutes with the Patriots leading 16 to 10.

Fresh off his bye week, which included a trip to Miami for Halloween with wife Gisele Bundchen, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady addressed the media for his weekly Wednesday press conference, speaking about the season so far and looking ahead to what is yet to come.

Brady elaborated on his previous comments that he was feeling better now than any other time, citing the lack of sacks he's taken this year and how his increase throwing in the off-season has helped him on the field.  He also added that he's looking forward to the second half of the season, noting "We have some great opponents, a lot of division games."

Toledo Walleye notch another victory over the Kalamazoo Wings

In a special morning game, the Toledo Walleye defeated the Kalamazoo Wings 5-4 in overtime at the Lucas County Arena today.  It was the second-consecutive game between the Walleye and the Wings, with the Walleye defeating the Wings on Saturday as well to give them their first loss of the season.

After changing out of their unique McDonald's warm-up jerseys, the Kalamazoo Wings opened the scoring, just over one minute into play.  Sal Peralta took a shot, which was stopped by Walleye goaltender Alec Richards, but Peralta scored on the rebound, putting the Wings up 1-0.

A Walleye turnover led to the second Wings' goal, as Mathieu Curadeau connected for his fifth goal of the season on a pass from Rick Cleaver.  Toledo answered right back, with Jonathan Carlsson putting the puck in the net just under 20 seconds later.  It was his first professional shot and first professional goal of his young North-American career.

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin tapped to host the Oscars

After much searching and a few declines, the 82nd Academy Awards found two hosts today, actors Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. The announcement was made earlier today by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

Show producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman told the press "We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars. Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event."

Baldwin was equally excited, stating "I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime." Martin, who hosted twice before added, "I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin."
